2008 Philadelphia Field Hockey Extravaganza!

Philadelphia College and University field hockey programs have announced the Philadelphia Field Hockey Extravaganza to be held Saturday August 23, 2008 at Buckley Field in Drexel University's Vidas Athletic Complex.

Participating Colleges and Universities each will play a one game match during the course of the event. Four full collegiate-length games are planned.

One purpose of the event is to showcase and highlight the sport of field hockey through the day-long competition to area high school field hockey athletes who have just finished a week of pre-season or for those that are about to begin their preseason. Another principle goal is to spotlight premier field hockey within the city of Philadelphia itself to the growing city school programs. Philadelphia high schools joined the PIAA two years ago as District 12. To date, NorthEast High School has represented District 12 in the PIAA AAA state field hockey tournament.

Field Hockey America will donate tshirts to the first 200 athletes attending this years inaugural event. FHA is also sponsoring free stick raffles during the course of the day and other events are planned.

Participating Universities: Drexel University, La Salle University, Lehigh University, Rider University, St. Joseph's University, Temple University, Villanova University, and a Netherlands Club Team.

2008 Philly Drop-In Field Hockey at Temple University
This summer Field Hockey America is sponsoring a summer full of quality field hockey touches and pickup play at Temple's Geasey Field Hockey Complex. Two turf fields insure plenty of playing time this summer, no matter the attendance.

Drop-In night at Temple will be managed by college site directors - you need to register online in order to participate or register at the field. Waivers are required to be signed at the field for those registering at that location. Your registration fee covers the University required insurance policy for dropin night and custodial fees. Onsite registration fees are payable to Field Hockey America.

Fees: $35!!! Only. For an entire summer of field hockey at Temple's Geasey Field!
Times and Dates: Monday and Thursday evenings, 7-9pm.

AGES: College players, post college, graduating HS seniors attending college this fall, HS Elite.

NO REFUNDS FOR THIS EVENT.

Reminder: Field Hockey America has a no tolerance policy. CALL IT RIGHT!! AND KEEP IT CLEAN!! Both on the field and in the air. Offenders will be asked to leave and may not return in 2008. No refunds in the case of expulsion.
